The clear and black versions both have gloss finishes, while the "Frost finish" is clear polycarbonate that's been brushed to a matte finish that resembles frosted glass.Each thumb rest comes with appropriate screws that are slightly longer than your original pickguard screws to accommodate the thickness of the thumb rest, so it shouldn't even change the holes in your bass.It's almost Invisible on a black or white guard from a few feet away.
