Description: Up for sale is my beloved Yamaha 667 detachable-bell French horn. This instrument has a medium-large bore and a Geyer-style wrap (with the extra long thumb trigger lever). I find that it plays sweetly through the lyrical passages, but you can rattle the bell for a Romantic sound if needed. I've always been weak in the high register, but I found this instrument to help my upper range a bit. I am the second owner of this horn. I bought it from a North Texas grad student who won an orchestra job (and upgraded to a German-made horn). I'm a band director who dabbles in performance. This horn was used regularly for several years when I played with a section who all had Geyer-wrap instruments. I'm more of a second/fourth player at heart (see note above about my weak high range), so my heavy large-bore Conn 8D gets more use. Valve compression and function is excellent and all slides move freely. There are a number of small cosmetic flaws - tiny dings (see photos), lacquer wear (inside the bell and some on the lower bow), and surface scratches. I tried to take detailed photos of everything but I'm happy to provide more. Message me for any further details!
