Description: You are looking at a very nice Yamaha YCL-34 Bb clarinet. This all wood instrument is considered an intermediate model for students stepping up from a beginner clarinet. It is the predecessor of Yamaha's YCL-450 model and has comparable performance. The key plating is generally excellent and the corks and springs work well. The body of the instrument has minimal scratches and no cracks. The serial number includes "AII", which indicates that this is a more recent version of the YCL-34 model. This Yamaha has been thoroughly reconditioned: It was completely disassembled and cleaned, the keys were hand polished and all new Valentino pads were installed. In addition, the keys were aligned and lubricated when the clarinet was re-assembled. That means that not only will this clarinet be a fine player now, but it will continue to perform well for years with minimal servicing. The current Yamaha student models all come with this same Valentino style of pads (which are more durable), so in that respect this clarinet is just as good as a new one. I started playing clarinet 60 years ago and these days I restore clarinets exclusively. Over the years I've refurbished more than 1,200 of these Bb models, many of which have been sold here on eBay. Therefore, you can check out the feedback from other people who bought my clarinets and be confident that you're buying a quality instrument that plays great. I feel I've done my best to ensure this one fits that description. After testing this Yamaha, I've found that it does everything well- it plays easily from top to bottom and has that sweet Yamaha sound.
