No negative was found. No manila envelope. Titled in ink on reverse: "Mud - Four Feet Deep". Four men carry heavy canvas bags filled with supplies. Another man holds a machine gun and another a rifle. None of these faces look familiar to the rest of the collection. This original photographic print comes from a huge collection of photos and negatives saved by a serviceman in the "8 Ballers" - the 8th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron (A-2 Section I believe) at Papua New Guinea during WWII. I've seen dates on the envelopes from 1942 to 1944. Original Print Measures 3.75 x 4.75 Inches. Very Good Condition: Creases at Lower Corner as Seen.
