WWII Japanese Type 30 Bayonet Straight Quillion w/Wooden Scabbard - TALW

Description: WWII Japanese Type 30 Bayonet w/Wooden Scabbard for Type 38 or 99 Arisaka Rifle - TALW Arsenal - Variation T - Very NICE Condition - Very RARE Up for sale is a WWII Era Japanese Type 30 Bayonet w/Wooden Scabbard for the Type 38 and Type 99 Rifle. It has Toyada Jido Shokki Seisakusho (TALW) Arsenal markings on the blade. It has a serial number stamped on the rear of the Pommel. Approximate Blade length 15 9/16". Blue unfullered Blade, two rivets in contoured wraparound wooden grips, Rectangular Pommel and Straight Crossguard. It has minor evidence of sharpening. A couple minor nicks in the blade. Most of the finish is worn, just a small trace of the original blue finish left. Wooden grips are nice, no cracks just the normal nicks and dings in the wood. The scabbard also has an original Rubberized Frog. The Rubberized material is still, as is common on these over time. There are numerous cracks in the rubberized material, see photo's. The leather attaching strap on the frog is still intact. The wooden scabbard has a hairline crack on the upper front of the scabbard. See photo's for condition. See Raymond C. LaBar book "Bayonets of Japan", LB-148, variation T, page #181, listed as Scarce 5. This bayonet was commonly used with the Type 38 rifles/carbines and the Type 99 rifles.
