Description: Scarce British Pattern 1895 infantry officer sword in the original leather scabbard. The sword incorporates Wilkinson type blade re-hilted with a new type of hilt and plated cut and thrust blade. The right side of the blade has original "PROVED" control mark. The slightly curved blade has been plated (some flaking to plating) and retains faint original etchings of VR royal cyphers on both sides. Plated steel hilt features Queen Victoria's royal cypher on the guard. Fishskin covered wooden grip has tight wire wrap and no damage. Good condition overall, filed pigskin scabbard is in very good condition.
