DESCRIPTION: This is a old vintage historic WWII Anti Roosevelt Newspaper Clipping 1944 US Concession Thanksgiving Turkey Political Cartoon Anti FDR Franklin Delano Roosevelt War Demands Caricature Chicago Tribune by Parrish exaggeration analogy symbolic ironic satire paper collectible. This newspaper cartoon features a representation of a chef up a Dumbarton Oak tree. A meeting was held October 7, 1944 at Dumbarton Oaks Georgetown, Washington, D.C. There were representatives of China, the Soviet Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom that formulated designs for a world organization which laid the foundations for what was to became United Nations. The chef is trying to escape the "American Interests" Thanksgiving Turkey. He represents "International Planners" and is writing the Menu: Turkey a la Presidential Discretion. Near the bottom there is the printed artist signature Parrish. Joseph L. Parrish, was an American cartoonist from 1936 until his retirement in 1970. In 1936, he became the chief editorial cartoonist for the Chicago Tribune until his retirement in 1970. He was also known for his series ``Nature Notes``.
