Description: THE WINNING BIDDER DID NOT WANT TO PAY SHIPPING WHICH WAS $10.xx. SO IM GOING TO MAKE THIS A BUY IT NOW FOR $50 + shipping. First bid gets it! These 10x50 Steiner binoculars were taken off the battlefield outside the city of Bastogne, Belgium after the Battle of the Bulge. They were brought back and tagged by Pvt Bob Sibbing of Quincy, Illinois. Who received them from another soldier that was at Bastogne during the battle and retrieved them from a disabled German tank The binoculars are in fairly good condition and focus well. There are no cobwebs on the lenses but the have small dots of dust or water marks which do not interfere with there function. Both sides focus and turn easily. They open and adjust well. The leather case is missing it top and the straps are torn and bridle. There is no serial number which would indicate they were made sometime before WWII. PVT Sibbing was stationed in Germany at the of War and after the War. You can easily google his service records. He became a prominent musician after the war and was well known. I’m selling these as a souvenir from WWII with a low starting price of $49.99. The package for mailing weights 4lbs and measures 7”x9”x11”.
