During WW2, the German Wehrmacht felt that physical fitness of its personnel was a prime concern. For physical fitness activities, each new recruit was issued a specific sport uniform that consisted of a Long-Sleeve Pullover Shirt/Jacket; a sleeveless "tank top" style T-Shirt; a Navy Blue (later black) pair of Shorts; and Athletic Shoes. Manufactured in dark blue, this RARE Luftwaffe Sports Shirt/Jacket is in EXCELLENT used condition! As it was worn throughout the war, it does show various signs of wear; various marks; as well as a couple of period field repairs. The 3/4 length zipper is made by "Rheinnadel" and functions 100% correctly. A slight bend to the metal pull tab, but that can be easily rectified. Size is around a medium. A VERY RARE jacket, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
