Description: Woodman's Pal 681 Ax, Military Global Survival Kit, SK-NA-2Victor Tool Co SK-NA-2 Up for auction is a complete Global Survival Kit manufactured by the Victor Tool Company. It consists of an Axe Unit, designated R83VTCO-SK-681-N2, and a Saw Unit, designated R83VTCO-SK-SS-3-2N, each of which can be used and carried independently or joined together quickly by means of the snap buttons. Either one or both can be carried from a belt. The Axe Unit consists of: Canvas Case A Survival Axe, 681-N Instruction Manual No. 14 The Saw Unit consists of: Canvas Case B Survival Saw Grip, SS-6 Log Saw Blade, SS-2N Hacksaw Blade, HS-N1 Scraper, S-N Canvas Case A is water repellent and mildew-resistant with a zipper on the side, a belthook on the top for fastening to the then standard military-eyelet belt or to the case of the survival saw unit, and eyelets on the bottom. This is in very good condition. The survival Axe 681-N has the Victor Tool Company stamp and has the “Global Survival Axe” sticker. The blade shows very little use but has a little corrosion, the handle has moderate paint loss and the conical ferrule has a little rust. Instruction Manual No. 14 is dated May 1959. Canvas Case B is water repellent and mildew-resistant with a zipper on the side and a belt loop and eyelets for Canvas Case A on the top. This is in very good condition. The Survival Saw Grip has little paint loss. The Log Saw Blade is in its original paper wrap with a nice “Global Survival Saw” sticker, but the sticker is loose. The Hacksaw Blade looks unused in its original paper wrap. The Scraper is in its original paper wrap, but has a tiny bit of rust. The saws and the scraper are all marked “Victor Tool”.
