Description: WONDERFUL SET OF 3 ELEPHANTS#25, #26, & #27fromWalt Disney’s FANTASIA VERNON KILNS 1940 *** BEAUTIFULLY MATCHING SETWITH DARKER GLAZING *** Englishman George Poxon established the Poxon. China Company at Vernon, California, in 1912 to manufacture floor tiles and art pottery. He prospered until the Great Depression when he sold the company to Faye G. Bennison in 1931. One of the first things that Bennison did was to change the name to Vernon Kilns. Two major lines of pottery were established, dinnerware and specialty items. An art-ware department was established in the mid 1930’s. Vernon Kilns was a Disney licensee from October 10, 1940 to July 22, 1942 when they assigned all rights, inventory, and molds to Evan K. Shaw’s American Pottery. Each Vernon Kiln figurine has a number incised in the unglazed cavity, plus ink markings stamped, on the bottom in black letters “Disney Copyright 1940” (or 1941) and “Vernon Kilns U.S.A.” In this an exceptional and wonderful offering with the three (3) ELEPHANTS in their ballerina costumes. A set collected for the matching and distinctive darker glazing. #25 ELEPHANT 6” high #26 ELEPHANT 5” high #27 ELEPHANT 5-1/2” high All are in excellent condition for vintage. THIS SET IS ESPECIALLY ATTRACTIVE WITH ALL 3 ELEPHANTS HAVING THE DARK GLAZING. We ask that you examine the photos and video carefully.
