Description: Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots 8.5 8.5D Horween Chromexcel Leather USA. These are Made in the USA Wolverine 1000 Mile boots in chromexcel (CXL) leather from the famous Horween Leather company in Chicago. Wolverine is a traditional American work boot brand (more than 100 years old!) so they know how to make a boot that can get work down while looking nice. Their 1000 Mile line is one of the most famous heritage line boots, fighting with Red Wing's Iron Ranger as the best tough looking pair of boots. I find that the 1000 Miles have a slightly classier appearance compared to the Iron Rangers. These boots have classic leather soles but with rubber heels to prevent slippage. These are used so expect there to be a few nicks and scuffs and marks here and there as well as some wear on the soles; I noticed nothing major when cleaning these but do look over the pictures carefully. A nice thing about Chromexcel leather is that scrapes and scuffs tend to just disappear when you rub them down with a horsehair brush, maybe after applying a little neatsfoot oil. The soles do show some wear but are not in immediate need of replacement. These boots should last their new owner for many stylish years to come. These have been stored in a smoke-free home.
