I purchased this power bank primarily for the size and the magnetic charging capability. When it arrived it was at 34% power, but it was able to get my phone back up to a relatively good power level using magnetic charging much faster than I typically could with a lightning cable.The capacity of the battery is huge, so it took overnight to charge it to 100% via the USC-C input — I recommend that you use a high output brick (eg, 2.1 A output, not 1.0 A like the older bricks are) to get it charged faster. The battery has to be initially on in order for the magnetic charging to start, you can’t just put the phone on it and expect the battery to auto-detect that it’s there when it’s off. I found that it does NOT do magnetic charging of a phone when you are charging the battery pack— this is a minor inconvenience since I can always use the battery to completely charge my phone and THEN plug in the USB-C cable to charge the battery. The digital display gives an exact charge value, and I found that if I had my phone off and let it charge, my iPhone 8 Plus’s battery would go up about 4% for every 1% change in the battery pack’s charge. That theoretically means 4 complete charges before the pack is drained, though I typically don’t let it get that low to find out.The construction of the battery pack seems solid, and although it warms up slightly if you are doing magnetic charging, it doesn’t get hot to the touch. It IS a bit chunkier than most battery packs, about the size of a iphone plus with the thickness of a deck of cards, but I don’t mind that since you’re getting such a huge battery. The unit comes with a tiny USB-A to USB-C cable, so realistically you’ll need your own longer cable to charge it if the brick is more than a few inches from the battery.All in all, I’m very pleased with my purchase. I have no issues at all with it. It wirelessly can charge my Samsung 9+ and my S6 Galaxy Tab. I love this charger so far. I purchased it because I wanted a more powerful longer lasting pack as I traveled for work a lot. What bowled me over is something we take for granted now and that is the percentage readout display. Remember the four dots? Well I have this in my auto now and I have been retired for a year. It will maintain a charge like forever. After checking them they were charged and I believe that this is the overcharge safety feature shutting it down.I did connect my phone and also laid it across the top and my phone continued to show as charging After the packs led's went off. I have faster wireless chargers, but I bought this to serve as a travel charger.I have another similar power bank with wireless charging that I use at work on my desk, plugged in most of the time and just used as a wireless charger. However, I often forget to bring it home when I travel, so I wanted a second one dedicated to travelling.Caveat #1: This unit does have some heft to it, but there is no way this unit has 30,800 mAh of battery capacity. But it still gives 2 to 2 1/2 charges to my iPhone on battery alone, which is adequate for a day at the beach listening to tunes on a Bluetooth speaker. On battery, it does wirelessly charge a bit slower than when plugged in, however, so if you want the fastest charge rate from the battery, use a charging cord to your phone.Caveat #2: Since I wanted this to do double duty as a corded wireless charger and a cordless power bank, it was essential that it charged my phone while plugged in. When I first tried out this charger, I used the provided USB-C charging cord, and IT WOULD NOT CHARGE MY PHONE WHILE PLUGGED IN. I was in the process of returning it, when I decided to give it one more shot, but this time using a Micro-USB cable instead of the supplied USB-C. This time, it DID CHARGE MY PHONE. It charges your phone fast, and will do so wired or wirelessly. Its of course faster to charge with the usb-c to lightning cable that came with your phone but you can plug that into this too. It has two usb-a 3.0 ports that charge fast but the usb-c charges faster. you can charge this battery pack with usb mini or with usb-c. My only negative on this battery I have found so far is that it doesn't have magnets in it to keep the phone connected. That would be an awesome update!Overall this battery pack has exceeded my expectations and works great to power my camera, ring light, and my phone all together for recording out and about or in the studio. It seems to keep up on the power delivery of all 3 items at once and still charge them while using them unlike other battery packs I have used in the past which get hot and don't keep up. Wireless charging has always seemed a bit gimmicky to me. I have a Samsung S23 ultra, My previous device was a Note 20 ultra, they're fast charging capabilities when plugged in charge the phones extremely quickly, so it always seemed somewhat silly to plug a wireless charger in with a fast charger so you don't have to put a physical plug into your phone with the trade-off being it takes five times as long to charge your device. I work in a salt plant salt dust is everywhere and is extremely corrosive I use a case to completely enclose my device otherwise the salt gets in to the charging port and ruins it. This device is exactly what I've been looking for. I've seen some complaints of people estimating that the actual milliamp hour of this battery pack is only 10 to 12,000, that is false batteries are never 100% efficient but having had numerous 10,000 milliamp battery packs, I can verify that this device is well over 10 to 12,000 milliampers you can tell simply by the weight of the it . The power delivery port which provides actual 25 watt charging is an excellent option if you wish to plug your device in and charge it quickly. The traditional 1.5 amp USB ports charge as quickly as that medium allows as well. You can also have the battery pack plugged in and simultaneously be wirelessly charging and have another device plugged into any of the said USB ports charging as well. The misnomer of traditional wireless chargers is obvious, they're not wireless because they're plugged in. At my salt plant job I can keep my phone in its fully enclosed case place it on this charger and charge the phone as I'm working extremely convenient and it's something I've been looking for for a while. I have so far after having the device for a couple weeks only one minor complaint The exterior of this device the plastic is a bit slippery for my liking that is my only minor complaint. I got this device at a sale price of approximately $26 and I would say it is money well spent. This device allows you to not worry about having a charger carrying a bunch of wires around and in fact in a bit of a Jerry rig I have taken long hikes and taking a couple rubber bands attached my phone to this device in my pocket and it wirelessly charges while I'm moving which is cool. Reading reviews is always an amusing affair you'll read one review that says this is the best thing since sliced bread, and the very next review will say this is the worst thing ever. Generally when it comes to tech items I think much of this has to do with people's lack of understanding of the technology they're attempting to utilize. I highly recommend this device, it's a great price point, and it's a highly convenient extra battery The thing that really sets it apart is its ability to wirelessly charge.... Without any wires! I've only made one slight alteration to the device and that was buying silicone port plugs to block all of the USB ports but that is a specific fix for the extremely corrosive environment at my work.
