Description: Wildlife in America by Peter Matthiessen; Illustrated; 1959 HC/DJ 1s/1st Fine There is some shelf-wear, a tiny bit of chipping on the back top, and rubbing to the dust jacket (which is now in Mylar) but it is bright, vibrant and quite lovely. The binding is tight, secure, and square with bright clean boards. There is a tiny bit of fading to the bottom front corner. The lettering show very little fading. The pages are bright and clean with only a bit of yellowing at the edges. Very, very nice copy for the animal lover! This is a first edition from 1959. About the book: This classic history of the rare, threatened, and extinct animals of North America is a dramatic chronicle of man's role in the disappearance of great and small species of our land. "Should be the number one source volume for everyone who embraces the philosophy of conservation."--Roger Tory Peterson.
