Description: This auction is for a pair of high quality vintage aluminum bell stirrups that are 2 inch wide where the ball of the foot rests. They are 4, 1/2 inch wide at the base and if you happen to be a size 8 womens boot, they are perfect!The height is 5 inches from the inside and 6 inches on the outside.I cannot tell you enough on how awesome these stirrups are and how well they work for different scenarios!I am a retired horse trainer and I would use these as a switch out when riding in water or bad weather, to not damage my good leather stirrups. They worked amazing for when I was giving instruction for younger kids because I didn't have to keep swapping stirrups out to accommodate both me and the student. This worked because the stirrups are lightweight with a good grip and allowed smaller feet to be able to use them to cue the horse and then I could use them to demonstrate.Ive broke and trained many young sensitive horses with these and not only are they soft on the side to teach light cues but if you need to lunge, they aren't going to beat up the horses sides, with the saddle on. They are in excellent used condition, the rubber is perfect and won't move around, the aluminum can be polished up bright and shiny. The suede is in great condition. I purchased these stirrups back in the 80's and you will not find a better quality working aluminum stirrup like this, in comparison to the newer aluminum ones out of china. They are worth their weight in gold!
