(William Alsager Adderley) from the Anglais series, c.1883. As part of the Anglais series, this plate depicts a main view of STRATFORD in cartouche surrounded by flowering roses and wildflowers and a corner vignette of SHAKSPEARE HOUSE (sic). Series was registered October 20, 1883 based on the English registry stamp, verso also shows impressed IVORY stamp Measures 10 ⅜" in diameter In very good antique condition, there is some glaze loss on the rims, two small non-structural hairlines in the surface glaze (does not go through to the back) and crazing throughout commensurate with age and use, please see all photos A wonderful addition to any Aesthetic or polychrome collection!
