The piece is titled at the bottom “Where the World’s Peace Treaty Was Signed”. The wood frame is in good condition. There is some wear to the frame, but it is appropriate to the age of the piece and adds nicely to the antique patina of the frame. The bubble glass is in good shape with no chips, breaks or cracks. The painting is only in fair condition . Exact date it was painted and artist are unknown, however this event occurred after WWI, in 1919. The frame measures 18 x 24 inches oval convex frame and 2 ¼ inches deep - ARMISTICE STORY BELOW . The Versailles Treaty, signed on June 28, 1919, in the hall of mirrors at Palace of Versailes as the peace settlement between Germany and the Allied Powers that officially ended World War One. The Treaty of Versailles was the peace treaty which officially ended World War I. It was signed by foreign German minister Hermann Müller.
