Without it, you'll end up wasting your time and destroying your parts. Hubcaps are a prime example of this. Once they're on the wheel, especially if you have some of our brand new hubcap clips holding it on, it's impossible to get them off without a tool of some sort. Too many people decide that tool should be a screwdriver and start jamming it between the wheel and the hubcap to pry the cap off. While this can work - it'll scratch up your wheel and the hubcap. So why not just use the right tool? Our new hubcap removal tools are just like the original ones used in the later tool kits. Just pop the two ends into the holes at the lip of the hubcap, grab the handle for the jack from your tool kit, brace this against the tire (VW liked to brace against the wheel lip but we prefer the tire as long as we aren't using anything that could gouge the sidewall) and pop the hubcap off! Now - if you don't have the jack handle, you can always use a pry bar or large screwdriver. If you're really strong you can just use your fingers but with how tight the hubcap will be held on with new clips, that really isn't a thing this side of Krypton. Do it once - do it right! What you get: 1 x Hubcap Removal Tool - Part # 311012243 (plating will vary between yellow zinc and silver zinc) This auction is just for the removal tool - it doesn't come with the jack handle or a pry bar or anything else that needs to be used in conjunction with this tool! Applications: All air-cooled VWs with removal hubcaps. PLEASE NOTE: Not all aftermarket hubcaps have the holes drilled for the removal tool. If that is the case, you will need to drill these holes in the lip of your hubcap to be able to use this tool. Also, you may need to slightly modify the tool to fit your hubcap as far as hole spacing and hole size.
