Description: Vintage WWII Era 1940s Papua New Quinea Tribal Handcrafted Large Bow And 4 Arrows Comes from a lot that was shipped home by a GI stationed in New Guinea during World War II. Was stored in the original shipping box. The bow is some sort of hardwood but note it's lost it's flexibility over time. The bow string is bamboo. Two arrow heads are carved softwood, the multipronged one is of hardwood, and the thin one is also hardwood. Each head is secured to the bamboo arrow shafts with reeds or fine string/thread. All four arrows have a wood burned graphic design in the bamboo shaft. A superb varied set. Bow measures 63" long, Arrows range from 58" to 62 1/4" long.
