Description: VTG CAROLYN POLLACK RELIOS LARGE PIETERSITE SS/BRASS ENHANCER & LEATHER NECKLACE USA. This is a brand new Pietersite enhancer and golden brown woven leather necklace. They were purchased separately but complement each other. They have never been worn but stored.The enhancer is large 3” in length and 1 7/8” in width and has a large bail. It is composed of a large Pietersite stone framed by Sterling Silver and Brass. Pietersite was discovered in 1962 by Sid Pietersite in Namibia, Africa. It is only found in two countries: Africa and China. It is relatively rare and valuable stone because there is now only one active mine with limited quantities. It is a shimmering gemstone with a brownish red color with deposits of blue grey, red, and yellow chatoyant. It has been named “Hawk’s Eye” by Native Americans. This enhancer shows all of the beautiful colors of mineral deposits and veining. The necklace is woven leather with a coating of shimmering gold with engraved brass end caps. This necklace and enhancer were handmade and designed in New Mexico USA by Native Americans, using skills that were handed down from generations. It comes with original box, necklace case, and a card from Carolyn Pollack. I am now retired and I am downsizing my own personal jewelry collection that is authentic and was purchased from reputable retailers.
