The beautiful Bettina, sculpted to resemble an Italian high-fashion model of the time, is approximately 16 inches tall and has a vinyl head and limbs on a hard plastic torso. Bettina resembles the Sasha doll in that she is designed to be well-balanced enough to stand on her own. She has joints in her shoulders, neck and hips and can pose just like a live fashion model. ( This particular doll would need tightening to stand on her own and is shown on a doll stand). The fashionable miss wears a demure, floor-length, hippie -inspired gown in baby pink with lace, ruffles, rosebud appliqués and a bow detail at the collar. She has matching teddy-style shorts underneath and a pair of knitted white anklets on her feet. I don't know if her wardrobe is original or not, but it is painstakingly made of stunning, high-quality materials. And yes, your purchase includes everything but the stand. Although the original live model was a brunette, this Bettina has an impressive mane of shining, waist-length platinum blonde hair. She also boasts sparkling azure eyes with super-long lashes, painted eyebrows and a dramatic sweep of smoky blue eyeshadow. Her pale pink lips and nails are period-perfect. She is in excellent condition for having been manufactured over 40 years ago. Her sleep eyes work smoothly and easily, and I find no stains, tears, holes, extraneous markings or odor. She could use some tightening, though. Her head falls back and held on her back, she does not stay straight. Classic Italian fashion doll will enhance any collection or display.
