Description: Vtg 1941 hardcover "The Book of American Types" published by American Type Founders. A historic reference book on typefaces & fonts for the graphic arts industry. 192 pgs plus 43 loose sheets (most single-sided) of what appears to be updates. There is a pocket on the inside cover that I believe is for storing the updates, however there are too many sheets to fit without tearing. Cover/case size is 8 5/8" x 11 1/4", bound text pages are 8 1/2 x 11, loose sheet size is 7 1/2" x 10 3/8". The book is in good condition. There is not a dust jacket. The binding is secure, the pages are in good shape. The front cover has a few white specks. The outer corners and edges have some wear. The outer spine is torn on both sides at the top of the book (see last photo). The loose sheets have a couple of dog-eared pgs, one has pen or pencil marks at the top and one has a small tear.
