He also was a part owner of Charles Town Races in West Virginia. Mr. Woodfield was a native of Damascus and a graduate of Damascus High School. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He served in the Army in the Far East during World War II. Mr. Woodfield was a director of the Bank of Damascus, commander of the town's American Legion post and a member of the Elks and Lions Club there.
