Vintage/Antique, 1928 Elgin Art Deco, 14KT White Gold Case Women's Watch.

Please come back often, as we are always buying more goodies to list on ebay. This listing is for a vintage Art Deco, Victorian 14K white gold, ladies Elgin watch. This is a rare find indeed! The serial number on the watch movement is 30931342, which places the watch's manufacturing date at 1928, making this nearly antique. The movement is not running, and unfortunately there is some rust on it, so I don't know if it is salvageable or not. View the photos to see the rust spots. The watch case is 14k white gold and stamped 14K on the inside of the case. The case has the serial # 41208. The photos show some rust on the inside of the case. This is not on the case. It is transfer from the rust spots on the watch movement. The case measures 30 x 20 mm. This measurement does not include the hinge parts that attach to the band. The case weighs 6.33 gr when empty. This weight includes the crystal, because I can't pop that out to weigh it, but the crystal is very light. The scrap value of this watch at the current gold prices place it close to $300 in just scrap gold value, but please don't scrap this piece. This is a beautifully crafted, antique piece of jewelry, that connects us to our heritage. I hope that quality is appreciated by the new owner.
