Description: This enclosed heavy transmitter is marked 649a. It is a Western electric transmitter with a threaded brass face and Bakelite body with three rear body bolts and two screw down contacts. I believe this would have been used for the WE 336E Mine phone or similar panel phone intended for harsh conditions. I have used my phone tester on the rear contacts and it registered as 'passed' when the diaphragm is tapped. Stored and packaged smoke free. Please see all pictures and ask questions before purchase.
