Description: A book could be written on the history of the Amphibian watch. With not much more than ingenuity it was a trial and error event. The two Soviet designers came up with the compression case with a crystal that was able to distort and seal tighter the deeper they went. It was meant to compete with the expensive Blancpain 50 fathoms and Rolex Submariner. The watch was a success. The stainless steel back was twice the thickness and it utilized O rings. This particular model uses the tonneau case. New, this was rated at 200 metres. This watch is 40 years old and should not be worn underwater or used as a scuba watch. It is in excellent condition and all original.
