Description: Vintage Vaseline Hair Tonic for men to supplement natural scalp oils, new old stock. This is a 2 fl. oz. glass bottle full of clear hair tonic in its original box. Manufactured by Chesebrough-Pond's. I believe it's from the 1950s or early 1960s and would make an effective movie or stage prop. Condition: Box has some writing on the top in black (possibly grease pencil). I did not attempt to remove it for fear of damaging the box. Box shows some signs of age but is in very good overall condition. I have three available and all are in similar condition. There is some scuffing on the top of the box, edgewear and some signs of wear at the top flap where the box has been opened. The bottles of hair tonic are full. Note that I have one additional bottle without a box that I will list separately. Vaseline Hair Tonic also checks dry scalp and loose dandruff, according to the box, and keeps hair well groomed all day. It contains no alcohol. Advertised on the box as "New package ... same formula." Inner flaps advertise Vaseline Lip-Ice Pomade and Vaseline Carbolated Petroleum Jelly. The Vaseline Lip-Ice on the inner flap is billed as having a "new swivel stick case," -- I have found corresponding magazine advertisements from the late 1950s and early 1960s. Made in USA.
