VINTAGE TEPCO WHITE CHINA BOWLS & LIDS Restaurant Ware Soup Bake Farmhouse

Description: TEPCOCalifornia Porcelain & China16 oz Heavy Bowls with Lid These are vintage Tepco restaurant ware bowls with lids from my big collection of CA made restaurant ware. The white body is glazed. The lid has a button knob. I have not been able to ID the piece....it's listed as a sugar bowl (too big for that) and I've referred to them as French Onion soup bowls because of the lids, though they have no handles. Holding a full 16 oz (to the rim), they're suitable for many uses. They measures 3" tall to the rim of the bowl (4 3/4" tall to the top of the knob,) and 4 3/4" wide rim to rim. Both are marked "Tepco China" with "U.S.A." on the bottom in green & brown. The mark was used from 1931 until 1968 and these bowls were most likely made during the 1930's and 40's. One weighs 1.66 lb, the other 1.9 lb. They are thick heavy solid pieces suitable for baking. CONDITION: Both are in excellent condition. They were not made as "fine" china and bear the signs of more rustic manufacturing. One lid has a tiny dark inclusion on the inside. One bowl has what looks like a shallow "ding" on the bottom foot in manufacturing as there appears to be some glaze in it. The lids are nearly the same diameter but one is less bulky than the other and the knobs are a tiny bit different meaning they were made from different molds. I'm liquidating excess dinner and glassware as well as antiques, collectibles, and crafting materials in an effort to down size. I do not want returns and these bowls are offered "AS IS".
