Vintage Tamiya HORNET 1/10th Scale Remote Control RC Car with Radio Ready To Run

Description: Vintage 1st edition "The Hornet" RC buggy by Tamiya. Purchased and built circa 1985-86. Buggy has been in storage since then. It is in good shape with some scuffs from use. Cleaned and checked operation of the buggy. Steering, motor, and speed control operate as they should. Touched up the body paint where necessary. Comes with original Futaba FP-T2GS from the 80s and utilizes two FP-S38 servos. The receiver is an FP-R102GF which is BEC capable. However, the speed controller for the 1st edition Hornets does not have a BEC lead. Therefore, this model utilizes a separate onboard radio battery. The four cell battery holder is included. Note that no batteries are included with this model. It is ready to run, however, by installing eight AA batteries in the transmitter and the four AA batteries in the car. Of course, it will need a six cell sub C Nicad or Nimh pack to power the motor. Model comes with after-market hard foam rubber on-road tires. All in all, a great example of the vintage Hornet that can be run retro style with the original radio or upgrade to include modern radio, battery, and motor technologies..... Thanks for looking !
