Description: I have been an avid collector over 50 years. Now that I am pushing 70, I am being encouraged to sell off my collections so my son won't be overwhelmed with all my stuff. My mother's passion was collecting cookie jars. She had an extensive collection that ranged from very expensive antique pieces, to chipped and cracked junk that she bought at Goodwill. When she passed away I was the "lucky" recipient of her "treasure horde". My brothers had no interest. The market for collectible cookie jars has taken a real hit over the past years so I have not spent a lot of time on them. The cookie jars take up a storage room in my house and as time permits I list one or two of them that seem like they might sell. Shipping is expensive for cookie jars because it takes a large box and a lot of cushioning material to protect them for shipping. To date I have sold and shipped a half dozen vintage cookie jars and every one of them has delivered in safe, undamaged condition. This is her vintage "Strawberry" Cookie Jar. It is in very good vintage condition for the age, with bright vibrant paint and no crazing inside or out. The lid has three small chips on the inside of the lip (last three pictures). I do not see any of the small blemishes in the paint or finish that you typically see from manufacturing. Vintage cookie jars are not generally known for their outstanding quality.
