Description: Santa Claus rare vintage German Steinbach S766 "Santa on Sleigh" Smoker Music Box. This is a rare Steinbach smoker, a hand painted wooden smoker figurine by Steinbach. He was handmade and hand painted by a single skilled craftsman in West Germany circa 1980. Guided by the star stop his tree, his bag is loaded with presents for all the good little children on Christmas Eve. In his pocket are switches for naughty children, according to old German folklore. Beneath Santa's sleigh is a Swiss music box made by Reuge that plays "Jungle Bells" - Santa's torso lifts off to reveal a spot to burn an incense if desired to create the "smoker" effect. The music box plays "Jingle Bells". Approx. 9" x 9" x 4.5" in size. This device does not move when the music box is playing. Do not overwind the music box. Once wound, music will play when the gold lever by Santa’s leg is pulled out. This rare item has the original tag but does not come with the original box and is priced accordingly.
