Vintage Sport Classics Shorts 5 Stripes Right Leg 70s Style 80s Style S ?

Description: Vintage Sport Classics Shorts 5 Stripes Right Leg 70s Style 80s Style S (not certain of size..read description). Every once in awhile I come across something that is a bit of a mystery to me. These shorts are one of those things. No size or contents label. Below the stripes on right leg is a label that says Sport Classics. There is a flower on the label (see pics). I listed these under men’s but they could be worn by him or her. I’m not sure if the intention when they were made. The color is light blue. The stripes on right leg are black, pastel green, red, yellow and brown. My guess is that these are from the era in which rainbow striped clothing (and other things) were popular. Maybe 1970s or 1980s. (Although the colors are not actually rainbow). I’m only guessing on the age. Maybe they are a bit earlier. I don’t know. The fabric is not stretchy but there is stretch to the waist as it is elastic. Please see pic 10. The top 2 pics point out two small holes. My guess is that there may have been a drawstring. There is no drawstring now. But, the elastic is nice and stretchy so I don’t think a draw string would be necessary. The bottom 2 pics in pic 10 point out a square on the left front leg. There is light blue stitching. It makes me think that there may have been something sewn in this area at one time. Pic 11 points out a tiny spot on the waist (soiling or a stain). Pic 12 shows the shorts inside out. You should be able to see that the inside out side of pockets are worn thin and have been stitched/repaired). I’m guessing these may be a men’s small but I am not sure. Don’t go by a guess. Go by measurements. See pics 6, 7 8 & 9 for laying flat measurements. Waist measures 12 1/2” from side or side when resting. Pulled super unrealistically taut, goes up to 21” from side to side. It is in no way even close to realistic to wear this taut. In my opinion, the waist more reasonably goes up to between 14” from side to side to 15” from side to side. Rise (crotch seam to top of waist) is 13 1/2”. Inseam (crotch seam to end of leg) is 6 7/8”. End of leg measures 12 3/8” from side to side. All pics are of the same one pair of shorts. See all 12 pics for details & enlarge each pic for a closer look. Make sure to see the stripes as they are “thick”... see the texture. May be nylon.. the fabric reminds me of something you might see as a strap on a backpack. Hope this makes sense. As is which is just as these were found/sourced in California.
