Description: Vintage DC siren. Will work on a 12v DC supply (like a car or truck), but it needs 24 to 30 volts to make the sound you want. Without at least 24 volts it won't sound like a vintage siren. To use this siren effectively on a 12 volt vehicle, I have included a DC to DC Step Up Boost Buck power supply to provide up to 29 volts to drive the siren. The video shows the siren being powered at 29 VDC. You will need to provide the wiring to connect the siren to the Booster and the Booster to the car. 18 gauge wire is large enough as the siren and booster only draw about six tenths of an amp from a 12 volt battery. My watch indicates about 96 db sound pressure two feet away at 24 volts and 100 db at 30 volts. This is plenty loud for a parade car or whatever use you have in mind. The ONLY marking on this siren is the word 'Yugoslavia' stamped in the mounting bracket. There is no other label or name plate.
