Description: I am a retired ObGyn and medical historian who has collected books and instruments for over 40 years. Age and downsizing have prompted me to pass along my items to younger collectors with the space to display them. As time permits, I will be listing approximately 300 books and over 100 instruments on eBay. This is a small SIMS bivalve anal / rectal speculum. The ~ 3.5" blades are fenestrated and the instrument opens sideways. The inside of one handle is branded "BLANK Pat 4-9-01", the other "Pat 4-9-00". It appears to be nickel- or chrome-plated brass. There is no missing plating, but it shows some wear near the outside lower part of the left handle. Please look at the photos. I will ship U.S.P.S. Priority mail.
