Description: This is a vintage mock neck dress I bought but couldn’t try on, and with the tailored nature of it, and my large ribcage, it won’t fit me. It’s a gorgeous well made dress, probably made in America in the 50’s or 60’s. Has a Swing, A-line style skirt with a fitted tailored top. Zipper is in the center back. This is really rich beautiful dark navy blue fabric with a vertical ribbon accent of red and gold with dark blue or black non functioning buttons on the wearers left side. Asym / asymmetrical trim design on the front, but the dress bottom is straight across. Short sleeves, about 1/3 style, as they don’t quite reach the elbows (half sleeve) , depending on how long your arms and how wide your shoulders are. Well working zipper in the back. The dress has no lining, but there’s no rips or tears, and I can’t find any seams that are coming undone. This vintage dress is built like a “brick shit house” ;) Perfect for swing dancing, rockabilly / pinup style, costume, sailor, nautical, photoshoot worthy, yacht rock, yacht party, kind of betsey Johnson vintage style, retro, mod, Twiggy, flare, pin up, iconic vintage cocktail dress, stewardess, vintage flight attendant short dress. It’s around knee length for the average person. Measurements are (and more are in the listing info): Chest - 35-36”, waist-25”, hips-open, length from shoulder to hem-36.5. Shoulder width (shoulder to shoulder) is about 15-17” (there aren’t set shoulder seams, so I calculated it based on how it fits in my shoulder area). If you have a large ribcage or breasts, this probably won’t fit you, and unless you pull out the seams a bit (which would be worth it if you have it done professionally), it doesn’t have a lot of give. There are no labels anymore, so I assume this is polyester, as it’s very tailored and sturdy. This is probably the best shape I’ve ever seen a vintage dress in! And I work in fashion, so I’ve seen a lot over the years. Pls message with any questions. Ai….This vintage sailor dress is a stunning addition to any wardrobe. With a blue, red, and gold color scheme, it's perfect for a cocktail party or any special occasion. Made of polyester, it's comfortable and durable. The dress has a shift style with a tailored look, featuring a open hip size and a waist to hem length of 21". The dress is an original piece from the 1960s, with a chest size of 35" and a waist size of 25". The shoulder to shoulder measurement is 15-16", and the shoulder to hem length is 36.5".
