Description: A pair of Beautiful, unique, Vintage Levenger bronze-finished bookends. From the late 90' Created by sculptor Jon Bickley. The bookends depict lexicographer and critic Samuel Johnson's beloved cat, Hodge. The bookends are replicas of a larger-than-life statue Bickley sculpted which now stands outside Johnson's London home. Hodge stands atop Johnson's famous 1755 Dictionary, with an oyster set before him. As Johnson once said, this is "a very fine cat indeed."This set has the history written on the Bottom .8 'H X 6' L X 4 1/2 DGreat condition , one scratch on one book end.
