Description: Vintage 1930's HERCULES Tin Wind-Up Litho Children's Ferris Wheel manufactured by the J. Chein & Co. U.S.A. It stands 17" high and is complete with all the ferris wheel cars present. The J. Chein wind up tin toys are known to be very colorful and this Hercules Ferris Wheel is a nice example of their litho work. Ferris Wheel and crank mechanism work most times if you crank it carefully and give it a little assist on the start. I tested this numerous times before posting and got it to spin 9 out of 10 times. It's not perfect but it does work most of the time if you turn the Farris Wheel prior to cranking. The bell rings almost every time when the wheel moves. There is a little rust on the corners of the base from wear but the rest of the cars and pictures are pretty clear (pictured).
