Description: This is what I will call a unique vintage painted spelter statue of a young girl made into a lamp. I am uncertain as to exactly how old it is. Maybe the 1930s or 1940s by looking at the base. To the top of the socket, it measures 27 inches tall (68.6 cm). To the top of the statue, it measures 23 inches tall (58.4 cm). At its widest point at her hat, it measures 11 inches x 12 inches (27.9 cm 30.5 cm). The base measures 8 3/4 inches wide (22.2 cm). The girl here looks French to me, though she may also be Italian. Or maybe I’m wrong altogether! Please use your judgment. I did some preliminary research but was unable to find anything at all like this. I’m surprised because it is so beautiful. The statue was painted, and there are scattered chips to the paint where you can see the spelter below. The base though may be brass. Probably the worst damage to the finish is in the back on the rim of her hat. The lamp looks like it was rewired in the 1950s or 1960s. It is working well, but I always recommend rewiring any vintage lighting. It weighs a whopping 23 lbs. 8 oz. (10.664 kg).
