Description: Vintage OURO Artesania hand carved wooden figure, made in Spain, of Sancho Panza, Don Quixote's faithful companion.Sancho is riding his donkey, holding the rope reins in one hand and is also holding his bota of wine at his side with the other hand. Sancho is about 7 1/2" tall, the donkey is 5 1/2" across, and is on a 4 1/2" x 2 3/4" base. This is an older piece; we believe it is from the 1960s or 70s. It is marked OURO Artesania, Made in Spain, No. 606-B. In very good condition; not broken or damaged. Quality carving and plenty of detail. Other similar ones we've seen have less detail, for example, he is not holding anything in his left hand, versus the wine bota in this one.
