Vintage Ornate Sterling Silver Thimble

Description: Vintage Sterling Silver Thimble Click image to enlarge Description This gorgeous thimble is made from sterling silver and it is set with ornate foliate decoration in high relief. I’m not sure what size it is but all the measurements are set out below. It is hallmarked to the cartouche for Birmingham 1992. The style of mark used shows it was imported before being assayed as sterling silver in the UK. Unfortunately, the mark’s so tiny that I couldn’t get a clear photo of it. Inside, it is stamped ‘Mexico Sterling MM-94’ – the latter being the maker’s mark. This piece is in lovely condition and the decorative detail is wonderfully crisp. Please be aware that, after 32 years, there will be some fine surface abrasions caused through handling.
