Description: Vintage "Old Time" Fanny Farmer Candies Two (2) One Pound Boxes Although the contents is long gone, the pair of early paper covered candy boxes belonging to a great-aunt, who displayed the pair on a pantry cabinet shelf, are charming. Both are certainly advertising collectibles. Both boxes measure 6 1/2"x 3 3/4" X 2 1/4". The gold embossed lettering, framed portrait of the founder/candy maker, Fanny Farmer, Rochester, NY on the top cover and lithograph images of a "Homestead" and "Statue of Liberty" displayed on long sides, and company label displayed on each box end are similar. The trade name and address on the short end panel cover are slightly different fonts. The content labels are the same. Most noticeable is the contrast in discoloration between the two (2) box covers which shows the age/condition. The lighter of the two boxes has a break and tear at the base of one corner and a price tag peeled "scar" on top left corner. The darker box has two small tears in the paper covering at one short cover end panel. Please study the photos provided to see the details described. Questions welcomed.
