EIT Old Willow Tea Cup English Ironstone Tableware AKA Blue Willow Staffordshire England Four tea cups in the Old Willow pattern made by English Ironstone Tableware (EIT) of England. This ironstone piece's base color is white with blue willow motif outside, and no trim. Production for this pattern has been discontinued. English Ironstone Tableware Ltd was in operation from 1973 to 1994. The original Willow pattern was first engraved by Thomas Minton in 1780 and the popularity lasted for about 150 years. Different version of this stock pattern was made by many Stoke-on-Trent pottery manufacturers in England and some had different names such as Blue Willow, Willow Blue, Old Willow and others. It eventually was revived again in 1950s and onwards. Please see the pictures for a close-up of the back mark and the pattern details.
