I opened the original factory carton for the first time in 50 years, and I found that the finish of the range hood is not perfect. I took some cleaner, and I was able to get some of the "dirt" off, but I didn't attempt to do the whole thing. I just did a small patch, to see if it was cleanable. It appears to be cleanable. There is nothing structurally, or mechanically, wrong with with this Range Hood. It has just been in this box for decades. See the photos. The last photo I show a kitchen from the 1970s, the same era as this unit, with white appliances. I am only showing this photo as an example of a typical 1970s kitchen.
