Description: 23 watts per channel into 8 ohms. This stereo really rocks compared to some bigger wattage receivers I have heard. There is a matrix setting which is an early version of surround sound with 4 speakers. Made in Taiwan in the late 70’s and perhaps early 80’s probably by Technics or Nec and sold by Jc Penney. I used this receiver for several years and appreciated the sound quality. There is a thump heard through the speakers when you turn the power on, so I turned the speaker selector to off to avoid this when powering on. I have occasionally and recently used deoxit d5 on the potentiometers as needed. Sometimes you have to move them back and forth a few times to get them to work properly especially if it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. I got used to them quickly. Just something to keep in mind on this unit. The unlabeled knob is volume. The meters for signal strength and tuning do not work properly, but the red light for stereo does turn off and on properly when tuning Fm. Packed in two layers of bubble wrap and a layer of foam. Small boxes were added to fill the extra space to keep the receiver from moving around during shipping.
