Vintage Mauveil & Williams Sonoma Large 16x12 Copper Roasting Pan Thanksgiving

Description: An heirloom quality roasting pan, made in France for Williams Sonoma, with the best features of Mauviel’s Cuprinox Style. The heavy duty 2 mm thickness is an 18/10 bi-laminated metal combination (90% copper exterior and 10% stainless steel interior). This design features an elegant curved lip and beautifully styled, low profile brass handles. Our family has used this pan primarily for Thanksgiving turkeys, but this is serious, professional grade cookware: It weighs a whopping 11 lbs, 9 oz (5.25 kg). The bottom of the pan measures 16 by 12 inches (40 x 30 cm), and the curved top is 16 1/2 by 12 3/4 inches (42 x 32.5 cm). It is 3 1/4 inches (8.5 cm) deep, and the handles extend another 2 inches (5.5 cm). There is no current equivalent for this pan. Williams Sonoma sells a Mauviel Tri-Ply Copper Roasting Pan for $660, but their copper exterior, aluminum core, and stainless steel interior model is slightly smaller and weighs only 6 lbs. Closest is the Mauviel M’Heritage 200 B Copper Roasting Pan with Brass Handles, but it measures only 13.7 x 9.8 inches. There’s a Mauviel Copper Roasting Pan with Brass Handles that’s bigger (15.7 x 11.8 inches), but it’s only 1.5 mm thick and still costs $625. This pan has a lovely patina, with a few stubborn splash marks along one side. (It’s always been hand-washed, using copper polish on the outside and stainless steel cleaner to keep the inside shiny.) There are a few marks on the interior surface, but the most wear is on the copper bottom, with scratches from oven racks and gas range surfaces.
