Vintage Lot of Mickey Mouse Timex Electric and Swiss Mechanical Watches

I took some close-ups using a loupe over my digital camera lens. The pictures show two retro/vintage Mickey Mouse watches that I found from a watch dealer. One is a women’s mid-size hand wind mechanical Swiss movement. Using a wooden toothpick, I was able to get the balance wheel to start up. It runs for a while and if I turn the watch upright showing the face, the second hands stops. It will need to be cleaned and oiled by someone into Swiss horology. There are some scratch marks on the silver toned case and raised crystal but over-all in good clean condition. The brown leather band shows no wear. On the back it states: BASE METAL BEZEL UNBREAKABLE MAINSPRING DUSTPROOF STAINLESS STEEL BACK. The other watch is a Timex men’s Electric Mickey Mouse. This is a men’s pre-quartz Timex Electric Mickey Mouse watch. Normally I would have passed on this timepiece, because of its condition, but I know there are Timex Disney Mickey Mouse enthusiasts who might be able to use this timepiece for parts or a restoration project. Over-all the watch is in poor condition. The second hand is not connected. There are scratch marks on the silver toned base metal case and crystal. The hands do move around the dial. When using a wooden toothpick, I can get the balance wheel to start. I held a 357 battery to the battery compartment but could not get the watch to run on its own. The battery is not included. The black leather band is in good clean unused condition. The lug width is 17-18mm. The inside back dial reads: CASE GREAT BRITAIN. ON the back of the watch, it states: TIMEX WATER RESISTANT CHR PL BASE METAL BEZEL STAINLESS STEEL BACK. The electronic digital caliper shown in some of the pictures is not included. They were used to show the diameter of these timepieces. No mechanical watch is going to be as accurate as a modern-day quartz watch. Since the watches were opened to show the movement, they are not designed to be used in water. As far as a watch being water resistant if you replaced all the gaskets and the crystal on an older timepiece the watch would still not be suitable for anything above brief exposure to moisture. I would not recommend swimming or diving with any retro/vintage timepiece, regardless of how "waterproof" it was.
