For those of you who lived in or near Allentown, Pennsylvania you might remember Hess's - originally known as Hess Brothers. They offered clothing, footwear, bedding, furniture, jewelry, beauty products, electronics and housewares. Give a special gift to someone in a box that will bring back wonderful memories of that long-gone store and era. Hess's, originally known as Hess Brothers, was a department store chain based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The company was founded as a single store in 1897 and grew to nearly 80 stores by its commercial peak in the late 1980s. The stores offered upscale clothing which attracted a fair amount of celebrity interest. The chains stores were closed or sold off in a series of deals in the early to mid-1990s. The box comes in two pieces - the closed box measures 15.5 inches long, 10 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. There are some creases along the top and sides, residual tape and some stains.
