Vintage KDK VHF FM Transceiver Model FM144-10SXRII With Op. and Service Manuals

Description: Vintage Kyokuto Denshi Co. (KDK) VHF FM Transceiver Model FM144-10SXRII, With Op. and Service Manuals Includes, mic.(not original), 5 foot power cord w/fuse (not original), owner's manual (photocopy), with schematic (includes diagrams, and some adjustments). Also including a photocopy of the service manual (11 pages), which I couldn't find online. . Serial number plate is missing. Meter lamp not working. Meter works for both transmit and receive, however on receive, the meter pegs, and may need adjustment. + 5 KHz function not working properly. Display changes properly, but radio does not receive or transmit with + 5 KHz selected. One of the oscillators in the VCO is probably not working. The schematic and service manual should help determine if it is badly adjusted, or actually a failed component. Since microphone is not original, it does not have the switch for low power. A switch could be added, if desired. Measured output power: Low: about 1 W, High: 14 W, maximum. Channel busy and PLL unlock LEDs and display digits are working. Receive and transmit appear to operate properly (except as described). Did not check actual receive sensitivity, or make any adjustments. Note: power meter, and coax cables, used for testing, are not included. While this radio is working (except as described) at this time, since it is a vintage radio, a problem could occur later, for which I can not be held responsible. Does not have an internal PL encoder. Has a 5 pin DIN accessory jack for connecting a PL and/or touch tone encoder. There is also plenty of room to install a PL board internally.
