Description: Vintage Italian Art Pottery Signed Ceramic Hand Painted Charger Plate Very unusual (probably) Mid-Century Modern charger plate made in Italy depicting a couple on horseback "out for a hack" (riding) with their dog. Another rider comes along behind them. All are wearing top hats, even the woman, tho her top hat has a veil. She's riding side saddle. Seriously, women must have been great riders back then to accomplish this. The horses, all wearing blinders, look Arabian, due to the shapes of their heads. The dog, obviously, is an Italian greyhound. This is a very cool piece. It's 14.5" x 14.5" and has a wire on the back to hang it on the wall where it's probably been safely hanging all these years, hence, the lack of damage. No cracks, no chips, no crazing. It is signed, tho, I can't make out the signature. It's a beautiful piece and I'd really love to keep it but truly, I'm out of wall space.
