Description: One of my grandmother's hats from 1960's or 1970's Germany. Inside measures 22 inches circumference. It looks essentially hand-made, I suspect custom-made locally in northwestern Germany, and seems to be very well made of the highest quality materials. However, it is unmarked and the maker's stamp on the top inside is illegible so I can't be certain of its origin. I suspect it is felted cashmere wool but there is no tag for that either. The fabric has an attractive fur-like finish to it that feels soft and smooth. There is a brown ribbon applied around the base of the rim. There is an elastic chin strap on the inside that can optionally be put down or worn inside the hat when not needed. It's a lovely hat but doesn't fit anyone in my family and it's time to try to get it to an appreciative new owner.
